With the latest news of McClelland closing, I am also finding alot of my other favorites are NEVER in stock. Are we buying so much we are getting paranoid of other places closing shop? For one, I am looking at you Solani

I have seen a lot of well reviewed stuff I have never tried consistently out of stock everywhere for the last three to six months.
With mclellands bow gone and Dunhill being unsure if anyone's going to pick it up it's interesting to see many other well regarded brands and bkends nowhere to be found.
I for one have been grabbing an extra tin or two with every order to cellar stuff in case things get worse.
Hopefully it's just a seasonal thing and we will see a turn around soon.... hopefully.....

I didn't realize until just recently that a lot, if not most of these manufacturers are super small, Mom and Pop kinda operations.. Hell, C&D had about 5 people in a 3 bay sized metal building churning out all of their stuff, as well as several others' like GLP..
Pair that with the fact that guys are making such big orders, and it's easy to see how stuff stays sold out.. Just look at the rush for Eso...

My wife would disagree with the mountain of tins that are accumulating in the house lol. My best advice is to get out there and call call call tobacco shops. I managed to nab up some stuff over the last few days rather easily, but at horrid retail prices... we've been so spoiled by the online deals out there... Which solani were you looking for... iam pretty sure I can find it for you online... another good pointer is hit those pipe shows as there are a plethora of old tins and discontinued stuff at reasonable prices usually.

I guess I just miss the casual ordering online when I want a few tins, etc. Anxiously awaiting the chicago pipe show this year for sure. Solani has been out of stock everywhere for the better part of 6+ months, so if you have a line on some - let me know. . . specifically burly flake & VaPer
