  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just getting a feeler for if anyone would be interested in doing a lottery with pipe tobacco? I picture it running the same as the other lotteries. I think a fair payout would be like 3 ounces loose baccy with one having to be what you are currently smoking/enjoying or one tin. My reasoning for this is so its approachable to newbies too. So what is the thoughts and or changes? If we can get enough interest than I can kick it up higher for approval.

Unless Utah was planning to, I'd always be up for overseeing it. I kind of enjoy the structure/organization aspect. And, the baccy pass is finishing up now anyway so I could probably use a creative outlet...
One more iron in the fire, right?! 😉

Well, I count seven already in less than a day. Really no doubt whatsoever that we'd reach 15 interested parties in short order.
Java, is there any information that would need to be run up the chain of command? If so, is that something you could initiate?

nothing to make it formal, really, so much as someone willing to herd cats on it. it's a lottery, so it goes in the marketplace under lotto. also, whoever runs it needs to make sure the roster is full, manage adds and drops, and be willing to mediate if there were (unlikely) any disputes about prize payout quality (unlikely but it could happen).

(and we could go with another structure, but a 15 participant pool based in the mega millions' mega ball seems to work. or powerball, where we assigned multiple powerball numbers to participants: that would be decided by the easiest way to divide the Pball integers by the potential participants.)

just look at Jdog's work on the lotto, it's pretty exemplary.

oh, and consider this me being actively interested in a spot, were one open. o)

Like buying lottery tickets...
Get 15 people, assigned numbers 1-15. Last Friday of the month the MegaMillions mega ball number is the winner of our lottery. All other participants send the winner their prize selections, in this case a predetermined amount of baccy.
