Pipe Tobacco Blending

So I got a pipe tobacco recipe that I want to attempt blending. Here's the issue. The recipe given to me as 65% of this tobacco and 45% of this tobacco. And also 70/30 mixture.

I'm horrific in math and my head hurts thinking about these numbers. Anyone have a cheat sheet or have blended tobaccos before to get something like this done???

I assume this is all going to be trial and error.

Use a scale. Thats how I did it at the old shop I worked at. We had the weights written down for each recipe in oz. Id suggest getting an inexpensive digital scale to make the math simple.

It really is as simple as just using the numbers you've got as an amount in grams, and you can scale up from there if desired.
So for your 70/30 mix, just do 70g of the 70% tobacco and 30g of the 30% tobacco.
The 65/45 in the other hand doesn't add up, as you'll have 110%. Something is off there.

What is the actual recipe you're trying to create and your desired end amount? I can give you the measurements then if you'd like.

Typically, it's done in parts of 16. So it can be done in batches of a pound. Do you need a calculator or a scale?

65/45 makes absolutely no sense.

For the 70/30 mixture, figure out how many grams you want to make. Then multiply the total grams by .7 and .3 for your final numbers. Easy example: 100g of tobacco = 70g of one, 30g of the other.
50g total tobacco = 35g of one and 15g of the other.
