IMO ... Pipes + torch lighters = :frownno: :stickbeat

Use a flame type lighter. IMCO makes some decent pipe lighters for under $10 ... usually found at most tobacco shops.

I learned the hard way and burnt thru the bottom of a pipe and set my pants on fire

use a pipe lighter with a softer flame and you will be a lot happier!

That's cool Tom, it's a great lighter. Good heft in your hand and real solid feeling.

I would reccomend not getting one of these. My Dad has had one for about a month and is already having troubles with it.

My dad had ones from back in the 70s...those worked well....he finally had to send them in to get fixed.

The new ones im sure are like most colibris, a pain in the ass

Corona Old Boy

I really like the look and it works great, plus it has a tamper that stores in the bottom of the lighter.

I have this one.
Yep, the Corona Old Boy is far and away my favorite pipe lighter. Buil-in tools, good construction, reliable, good angle on the flame, and a large fuel capacity.

I need to spend more time with the catalog (just got it last night). I do want to start carrying pipe accessories, so if you guys see anything that you think others might want as well, plmk.

Looks like the old boy would definitely be something to consider Mark.

I'll look at the prometheus catalog today.

I use a zippo for my pipe. Once it burns for a couple of seconds, no fluid smell of taste when I light up.
