  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

How do, folks
today I took the next step. I think we all know the program: interest forms and you buy a pipe. Then, you start buying more pipes, and way more tobacco than you will ever need. And then, you crave something different. Something more.
I have decided it's time to start blending my own smokes in ernest. I have been mixing tobaccos of course, but I want to add a degree of organization. This is my journey.
Today I went out and got these doodads

after I cleaned all the containers to avoid plastic seepage, I went and got my handy notebook to start recording my findings. Because I am a sciencer.

Now, I know nothing about the true process of mixing and all that, but I plan on learning. In the mean time, I am an american and will do as I please

Ok, one quick mix up before the walking dead starts!

I have already tried this combo, and I thought it was the bees knees, so I will start here. I call it Borkum Black, and it kicks.

It's Dread Scott's Laaaaaaab. Excuse the reference, I'm super excited.
.003 of each I think, will be a good test size.

Into the jar called America because it is a mixing jar, bringing different things together to make them stellar.
I'm developing a catalog system to keep records here. Each container will be numbered, and as I learn to taste test better I will be creating a number scale system for quick reference.

This post got away from me a bit, but I hope it has been entertaining. more to come soon!

The whole time I'm think how nice that scale is!!!! What make and model?
It's the Slimline Digital Scale by mainstays. It was like, 14 bucks. It gets all the way down to the third decimal. I want worried about going lower because who wants to smoke that little bit of baccy lol

I hope everyone dealing with this snow is staying safe and warm, with plenty o baccy to keep em happy.

I decided that this evenings snowy dog walk deserved something special. I took a look in the cellar and came up with ehat I consider to be an unlikely pair.

Dunhill nightcap x Sangria.

The aroma of these two tobaccos combined is really something lovely. The freshness of the Nightcap comes out beautifully to rest on the honey sweetness of the Sangria.

success.
