Has anyone ever seen a part like this before (I know, not the greatest pic)? It is the cartridge from a shower faucet. Four plumbing supply stores and no one knows who makes it or has something similar.

That is actually the cold water faucet. On the right, you can see where the part broker. That is normally where the shower handle would connect with a screw. The other end goes into the wall and connects to the assembly behind the wall.

I wish Randy, it's in a rental property.

It's definitely a valve stem cartridge but no one knows who makes it. I have a feeling it is just a POS off brand that I won't be able to find.

I wish I could easily do that Kevin.

The shower itself is a one piece fiberglass shower. No easy access to the pipes. Behind it, is a wall of pine boarding. I can take the boarding off, it just makes the project that much bigger.

Tell me about it.

A real genius must have put it in. Let's see, let's put something in you can't find replacement parts for, is a piece of crap to begin with and will break easily knowing it's a beach rental that will get a lot of use.

I know that some times Home Depot has general replacement parts. I wish I had a HD Supply book in front of me I would look it up. Tuffy do you have one at home?

Tom did you see any replacement stems at HD? Most HD's have a section with replacement stems. If not Ray had the best idea with checking at a True Value hardware store. Most of these have been in business for a while and have a nice selection of stems to choose from.
