Anyone know any good portable speakers? The one I got now was a cheapo $10.00 one. Doesn't sound that bad but I want a new one. I found some on Amazon with good reviews. Not sure which to get.

The GoGroove Panda looks really cool. Has good reviews too.

AYL has the best average reviews.

Altec Lansing is a good brand, this one has the most reviews.

Thoughts?

If these work off of your phone, they would make a cool tag-along for the golf course

I have the second one on your photo list. It actually is quite loud considering that it is basically the size of a large tweeter. Sounds decent, but don't expect audiophile quality of course. We actually did have one cranked all the way up playing Johnny Cash on the golf course at a tournament one day, it was funny to see the looks. I guess it didn't help that we were all bombed and laughing like morons...and dressed like them too.
The speaker twists, then pops open with an accordian-like soft rubber material to hold the top to the bottom for "better base response". They are also powered by a rechargable battery inside of it, so if that goes low, you don't have a speaker.
I would get it if you just intend for a little fun whenever you need it.

I'd like to find some decent but inexpensive speakers to use with both my laptop and HTC Evo. My girlfriend got me some of the $10 ones (Merkury brand, I think) and they don't work in either one with the jack. I thought they were defective but they work fine in her sons iPhone. I've looked in local stores and there seem to be all kinds made for iPhone/iPad and they say they will work with anything with a 3.5 headphone jack but I'm a little skeptical now.

I wouldn't mind finding something for the car on road trips that plugs into my iphone. Or I guess I could also look at adapters.
