I've always just copied and pasted

When u reply there is an option to "upload a file" select "CHOOSE A FILE" find the pic on your computer and go from there. Give it a try, there are a couple of options on how the file appears in the post. I normally preview the post to make sure it appears correctly.

If its just a picture I have taken with my phone I am with Chuck and just use Tapatalk. Super easy and looks great. If its a picture I have taken with my camera I use Smugmug because I pay to store pics there. I have used free Photobucket and it is a good option as well for a hosting site. When you reply you will see something that looks like a picture in a frame and want it in a .img format I believe. I will try to upload a .img file.

The picture frame did not work but using the green plus sign link and using the .img link from Photobucket worked just fine
