  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Praying for all of Dallas.

Tonight, 10 officers of Dallas PD and 1 from the Dallas Rapid Transit Police were shot, 5 of which were killed in the line of duty, One of the officers was shot execution style. The chilling video was shown on television Of this officer trying to fight to save his life. Words cannot describe how I feel each time an officer is killed in the line of duty. Tonight's shooting brings even more sadness to my heart. Dallas officers had nothing to do with the other 3 police involved shootings from other states over the past few days. i pray for all law enforcement that God keeps them safe. I will never forgot the sacrifice these officers made to keep their community safe. I pray that peace and comfort for the families of the slain officers during this tragic time. May God bless America and Dallas.

In my 25 years of service as a LEO prior to retiring, I am truly saddened by the loss tonight. I'm proud of the men and women of the Dallas PD and DART PD as we saw videos of hundreds of protestors running away from the gunfire, while law enforcement ran towards it, keeping those that hate them safe. As a retired LEO, we are called the Sheepdogs, we protect the flock and keep it safe from the wolves. Sheepdogs never forget and are always diligent

Just woke up to read about all of this going down. What a sad, sad time in human existence. I cannot believe what we are doing to each other as humans.

I am only 32, but these past years have definitely been the most "trying" years since I was alive.

Prayers to all the victims and their families.

The frozen tundra of Minnesota.
I agree with all sentiments so far, especially those which point to our society turning on each other.
I'm sad for all Law Enforcement and angry at those who breed and propagate this madness for their own personal gain.
Here in Elk River, MN we have some of the finest Police in the Country, and every time I see them I think about what they have to go through, and whether or not it's worth it.

All of this nonsense just angers me, the saddest part is that it's only just begun. I'm sure there will be other copy cats out there not only targeting LEO but also white people in general. One of the shooters that was killed said he wanted to shoot all cops and all white people and the media just kept feeding that on there broadcast. To all the LEO's out there, be safe.

I just learned from a friend that is a deputy chief there, that a good friend of mine was one of the officers killed. I works patrol out here with him when he was a civilian. One of the nicest guys around, I'm at a loss for words, but we have reached out to his family. I know his uncle, who is besides himself. Since his name has not been released yet, I'll with hold it. But my sadness is beyond words now. It always hurts when a fallen comrade is killed serving, but when you know him, it even hits harder.

I am sincerely grieved by what took place in Dallas...beyond words and feelings. Good men who were doing noble things to protect and serve those who were actually protesting something that they believed in....and here we have a Police Force out there protecting them so that they could exercise their right to protest in a non violent way. The murderer who took their lives in such a brutal and cowardly way is unforgivable....the families left behind is another part of the overall tragedy. I am literally sickened by what I saw on TV and feel helpless to do anything other than what my heart tells me to do....as of today whenever I see a Policeman/woman I will make it a point to shake their hand and tell them how much I appreciate them because they step into harms way while everybody else ran in the other direction. Police need to feel and see the support of those who they protect and serve and just as a matter of conscience....we have no idea how our lives are affected in one way or another because of a Policemans vigilance and service.

If anybody runs into a donation page for the fallen officers' family please link it.

I know they started one for the sex offender, I hope they start one for these fallen officers.

Since the name has been finally released. I honor my friend, Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens of the Dallas Police Department. I worked with him at Lennox Sheriffs Station, when I worked a radio car and he was assigned as civilian employee. Lorne was a gentle giant, who loved life and his family, both law enforcement and blood. He left California to become a member of the Dallas Police Department almost 15 years ago. He was well respected, hard working and dedicated in protecting the community. I am at a loss for words since this one hits close to home, but please pray for his wife Katrina, their children and family. FYI, Katrina is a detective for DPD. Cant stop crying at this senseless loss.

I know this group is heading up accounts to help the families of the fallen.

https://atodallas.org/support

I also know of cops for causes, which puts money directly in the hands of the fallen a family.

I know that many that worked with Lorne, will be reaching out and helping his widow too.
