  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Praying for all of Dallas.

Today I wear a mourning band on my badge in memory of 5 fallen Brothers, and earlier brought the flag down to half staff at the direction of my chief.

Today is even more painful knowing that one of the slain was a friend of one of my BOTL Brothers, and LEO Brother.

My heart and my prayers are with those left behind to deal with this senseless act of murder. Prayers to their families, friends and comrades.

It's very sad news to see the tragedy in Dallas unfold. There is no such thing as justified violence, because all violence is senseless. I feel awful for the families, friends, and fellow LEO who had to these officers die needlessly and without cause. If you believe in a cause or a movement you should fight for it...but not through violent means. There is nothing righteous about using violence and fear to make an argument. Hopefully, we can all learn from this tragedy that there is more that unites us than divides us. Ultimately, we all want a better and more safer society. Discourse and diplomacy are needed, and those cannot co-exist with violence. Sometimes the greatest moments in history happen after tragedy, because they allow people to take stock of what is most important and value each other. The officers who died shielded those who were protesting, which shows that our LEO are ultimately there to protect all people. Hopefully, all sides can remember this, and use this as a bridge towards harmony and cooperation. The officers who passed away weren't just victims of a tragedy...they were heroes who sought to protect the people. They will always be remembered as heroes.
