What is your preferred rh for cc's?
How about for nc's?

I think I have found my sweet spot with everything at 65%, but curious what others prefer and why.

62 for CCs 65 then dry box to 62 for NCs But then I live in a freaking aquarium. I think storing at lower Rh helps them burn better when smoking in our high humidity.

Using 65% but have had a LOT of burn/bitter issues, especially with maduros. So...I switched one tup to 62%. Still waiting for the RH to catch up but am willing to bet it helps things out.

Well, usually my tups run around 3% higher than the Bovedas, and it's super humid around here. So really, I'm taking them out of the tup around 68%...and even dry boxing for a day doesn't always do the trick.

You need to dry box for about a week I think the rule of thumb is at best 1% per day and that's probably without cellos. We have 85% outside right now and inside with the dehumidifier running I'm at 67%.

Dang. I did NOT know that. I had been pulling out the weekend sticks on like Thursday, giving them 2 days or so. Guess I'll start them on like Saturday for next Saturday.

I went to a 40 count traveldor as my dry box. That way I'm not filling it so often and I can pick from a selection of cigars. A week is probably good, I had a buddy tell me that when smoking in high humidity the cigar absorbs all that moisture and the burn is affected. I thought he was crazy but I swear by it now.

I shoot for 63% on both NC and CC. I find that both smoke better that way. I am lucky enough to have the benefit of a storage room in my basement that remains cool. You will notice the temp on my cc coolers is around 60 degrees and the NC coolers are around 62. This is because the NC coolers are stacked on top of the CC coolers so the Cc coolers are closer to the basement floor and thus slightly cooler. (Does that make those my cooler coolers?)

I am still experimenting with the dew point number on those coolers as well. Not sure yet how that impacts things, if at all. Everything seems to burn and taste better at those lower numbers. I use a combination of 65 Boveda sand kitty litter to get them to the 63% number.

I have found that wooden humidors will generally run 2-3% below the Boveda packs I am using due to leakage so I am using straight 65 Bovedas in my Cuban humidor to get to the 63 number.

Do you use 62 Bovedas or something else in the travel humidor to lower the RH?

I can’t imagine using the travel humidor on its own would lower things much since they are generally pretty well sealed so it shouldn’t affect the cigars much (if at all)without some help.

I keep my cabinet between 61-62 RH. I only have about 2-3% NCs, so I don't do anything different for them.

Seems like a large percentage of smokers dry box their Cigars for a while.
Have personally never done it as I have never felt the need at 65%.
Everything seems to smoke just fine for me.

The CCs at 58% was a game changer for me. Burn issues, plugged sticks, etc are a thing of the past!

Interesting how many people keep there cc's at very low rh, and dry box for fairly long periods too.

Even at 62% i had lots of issues with wrappers cracking just sitting in the humidor, and the seemed to smoke hot and fast.

Have never dry boxed anything before either.

Mine seem to do great in every regard at 65% .

Even Boveda and Habanos S.A reccomend keeping cc's at 65 to 70%, and I would think they are reliable sources

On the Gulf Coast when we open the humidors we are introducing wet air and our Bovedas need to bring the Rh down. So I use 62% I also like a dryer cigar when I smoke because they pickup dampness from our tropical climate.

All that counts is that you like the burn and flavor of your smoke. Nothing else really matters.

Makes perfect sense.
And I definitely agree. Any rh that works best for you is definitely what you should use.
I was just mainly curious to hear people's reasons on why they chose the rh they do

I used to do 62% but had lots of problems so switched to 65% and now have way fewer problems and they smoke great
