Problem, need advice!!!

So as you know, I'm trying smack smokemifugotem in the face, but I ran into a possible snafu today at the post office. Coming from here, packages have to go through customs, which also means you have to declare contents. The way I understood it, the 'no shipping tobacco' rules were for cigaretts, not cigars. The clerk said otherwise, 'no cigars'. Is she correct? If so then how do places like Famous get away with it? Anyone have experience shipping to a brother somewhere that had to go through customs? i know I can just declare it as something else, but if they open it I don't want to get fined. Help me, help me!!

anything shipped in or out is gonna go through customs and since those pesky cuban things are available to you, the customs people will frown on you trying to send tobacco products. so not that i would know, but i have heard rumors that some people have even not been totally truthful when they filled out their customs declaration (gasp).
not saying that you should do anything illegal like that..........

They are allowed to inspect if they want. They will put a big orange sticker on it that says they opened the package.

Sir how dare you suggest I be deceitful to such a truthful government!! Only problem is that I have received packages from the states that have been inspected....

Then again, ye could do like me and wait until ye visit the U.S. (it is terrible to have to wait, though)

thats the bright side, I fly to NY on thursday. So i may wait. But with a war looming on the horizon, I can't be left fighting only one skirmish....

Tell the PO that they're candles, that way if they scan them, they're the same shape.
