  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I bought some Yibao lighters off ebay that work the same way.
I think I paid $6 shipped for a set of 2 of them, and they work great.

I snagged a prometheus god of fire flint torch when I was in Denver a few weeks ago. I have to say, it really does ignite much more reliably than the piezoelectric mechanism.

Mr.Maduro should check in on this thread - he does a lot of lighter reviews.
Gracias my brother! I am close to 80 reviews at this point. Though, I am definitely lacking in the soft flame department. My most recent lighter review actually was a Prometheus that used flint, but it is a torch lighter. Heres the link Best Slim Lighter Might be a good option, it is one of my new favorite lighters. I like the cross between old school flint and torch.
I did not realize how lacking I was in the soft flame review department. I will have to change this in the very near future!

No problem - I finally got around to checking out your site the other day. I was really impressed with not just the number of reviews but your thoroughness and rating system.

It's funny, I was able to pawn my kids off to the grandparents for the weekend so that my wife and I could have a quiet Valentine's Day weekend and I'd cook dinner tonight. This morning, as the house is all nice and quiet, she was watching TV and I was flipping through the latest issue of C.A. and they had a review on slim lighters. Neat coincidence.

Wow, really appreciate the positive feedback! Thank you. I do not have C.A., will have to check out this week at my B&M. Do you recall which lighters they chose? Just curious.

They show the Prometheus Retro ($75), Lotus Black Label Stanley ($35), and the Brizard & Co. Sottile line (showing a $130 rare wood finish)

Now, I paid $7 for my Xikar single torch and I love it. I just can't imagine what a $130 lighter brings to the table except bragging rights and prestige... But only among those who recognize it.

I'm doing a giveaway contest on Twitter ending 3/21 if anyone wants to enter for a Black Label Stanley.

It is the one I used for the review. Still basically brand new in box. Good luck and long ashes!

The Xikar Flintfire is a great, soft-flame thin lighter. They used to be on cbid for under $30.

I collect lighters and love the copies of the ST Dupont ( ping ) and have 4 of them and they are made great. The ones I bought were off the Cigar Sites that cost about $25 each or were included with a box of cigars. These things are as good as the originals and they are made well and light every time.
