  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Props to Xikar

So I bought a Xikar Exodus with a gun metal finish a little over three years ago. It served me well over the three years. I used nothing but quad refined fuel in the lighter. Well a couple months ago the burner got something in it, probably a piece of ash or whatnot. It caused the flame to suck ass, and I tried blowing it out with canned air but that only made it worse (not working at all). I finally remembered to send it in under the lifetime warranty explaining the issue and asked for a finish touchup. Instead of repairing my lighter and sending it back they just sent me a whole brand new lighter. This is only like two weeks tops elapsed time. I forgot how well the flame worked back when I bought this. Yah for Xikar's warranty!

Great to hear this - had a problem with a Prometheus lighter - not a lifetime warranty and they responded that way - I could send it in at my cost and have it repaired at a cost - in the future will go with LT warranty -

Yeah, I really wanted a Prometheus lighter or a Xikar but before I could buy one, my wife got me a Xikar for Father's day. Thank goodness because at the time I thought both had lifetime warranties but unfortunately do not.

I love my Nautilus (NXT)!!

I know a lot of you are worried about shipping it in, and waiting. However, you can take them back to any shop that sells Xikar, and get it replaced there. I've done this with 2 lighters that were having burner issues. Swapped out on the spot, with no questions. I think you can even choose to do an upgrade at that point. At least, the last time I went in, they said "your lighter sells for $50, so you can have that towards any Xikar". I swapped lighter models at that point and couldn't be happier.
