What is puerh?

A unique tea from Yunnan province in China. It's harvested from a tea varietal that grows into large trees and is usually pressed into circular disks called beeng, bricks or a nest like shape called toucha. It is then intentionally aged and bio activity encouraged. The best puerh is usually over 20 years old and the rare ones can fetch prices in the 100000 or more from collectors. The flavor profile is strong and earthy. Puer is the scotch of teas.

My fav combo = Patagas Black + good, aged ripe Puerh .. ma ma mia .. unbelieveable sweetness!

I haven't tried enjoying puerh with a cigar yet, but the first time I tried a puerh I thought, "even my non-tea drinking cigar smoking buddies could appreciate this tea!" Some even have a tobacco-like aroma.

My tea-enthusiast brother heard I had a couple puerh teas at my house and bought me the small clay teapot for it, so I'm officially a dork with a teapot for one specific variety of tea.

I have enjoyed some puerh that I have with them. The earthiness makes a good match
