  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Question about wrapper thickness?

Hope some of our BOTL Rollers can give me insight as to why some companies use what I call ultra thin wrapper. That lets say are very fragile. Pronded to splitting, and other problems.

What the reasoning behind using these micro think wrappers. Cost, flavor profile, or ? Problems seem to be more frequent when weather (tempeture) inside house & humidor is height then tempeture out on my pation where I smoke mostly.

Taking a 30 degree tempeture difference.

It can be a number of things. The flavor is the main reason I select a wrapper, second is burn quality. The thinner the wrapper, the better it burns typically. Usually the thin wrappers are a higher grade leaf as well, but they are very fragile.

Agree with above. Also, the leaves are most fragile when dry. When properly conditioned to roll they are more flexible and (somewhat) less prone to tearing.
