  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Miley Cyrus (16) has admitted to having a 20 year old boyfriend. Is that against the law even if they are not having sexual relations? If so, why hasn't the media jumped all over this?

I just wanna see what happens when she turns 18 or 19, if she ends up like Lohan or the Olson twins or other problematic stars.

Yes it is.

I'm just tired of all the celebrity double standard BS. On top of this, the media has promoted her BS opinions on this subject. Now there are thousands of girls who think it's ok to date older guys. In the real world these couples will have sexual relations. Goody (sarcastic), now these girls are going to get a free pass, and the guys end of with a criminal record.

when my daughter was 17 she asked me if she could date a 19 yo. i initially said, "no way." she asked why, and i told her it was against the law. she asked, "why. we will not be having sex." she went ont o explain that they were good friends, have been since her freshman year in high school, etc. she never lost her cool and was very mature in the way she approached me. i asked her to give me a few days....

we all went to dinner. i questioned him relentlessly about his plans.... he handled himself quite well and with a great deal of respect. they dated for alsmost 2 years and they never gave me reason to doubt anything illecit was going on...

as for the law, in CA, anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to have sex. it is statuatory rape. both parties are guilty. there's also oral copulation. or sex with a foriegn object (like fingers). etc. etc. the age difference defines the severity of the crime.

parental consent means a lot when it comes to this. Her career has also required that she mature much faster than your average 16 year old.

Well, in Mexico it is ilegal to have sexual relationships with an underage (less than 18) if ye're over that. But a simple relationship? It's all good.
