Real or Fake

I was given a few Cohiba Churchills marked La Habano Cuba with four checkerboard bands around the label just like I've seen in threads here. It was brought to my by a Dominican native who works for me after vacationing back home. The box had a clear top although I didn't get a chance to see any seals or labels. Whether they're real or not I'll never tell him because it was a nice gesture and worse case their decent Dominicans. But I'm still curious.

Clear top = Fake....IIRC, there should be 3 dots above COHIBA. Also, the pics are a bit fuzzy and I've never seen a Cohiba in cellophane. Smoke it as a nice Dominican cigar but it's definitely not a Cuba cigar.

Those are fake. Cohibas don't come with clear tops, cello, or say "Habano"

I recall seeing a picture from a japanese vendor with some diplomatic cohibas cello'd. no idea if those were even authentic :dunno:

I know some Swiss vendors ship single cigars in cello. But I was mainly talking about regular production :thumbsup:

Cohibas produced through the 80s did come in cellophane (except Robustos, according to Min Ron NEE) . Newer ones, however, don't.

They are real...cigars anyway. Definitely not cuban Cohibas.

I don't have the definitive answer, but I believe it is Yes. For instance, I do beleive the RyJ Celestiales Finos are Handmade and packaged in cello (as well as not in cello...not confusing at all, huh? lol).

Yup, THOSE ARE REALY FAKE!!!! First indication is clear top box! Never been done before! cello,, only on some realy OLD cohiba's! I have a bag at the office with fakes that have been given to me over the years. I use them as chew sticks while at the office.
