Recommendations for a Good Celebratory Smoke

Hey guys,

Well, after five and a half years, I'm finally graduating from college this weekend. Going out for lunch with my family and my fiancé, but naturally, I will want to sit down with my father and enjoy a good smoke for the occasion, so I wanted to see what you guys recommend.

I would have no problem with spending a lot for a single stick, so if anyone has some good recommendations (which I'm sure you guys do) fire away. Any input, especially if it's a brand I've yet to try, would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Much depends on how often you father smokes cigars. A Padron 1964 is a good smooth smoke that you both will enjoy. If you want to splurge, get the 1926. If he is a regular cigar smoker an Opus will give him a kick.

Can't go wrong with Wade or Chucks suggestions. Smokin with Dad is always special, one of the best cigars I ever smoked was an El Cheapo Dad gave me upon my returning home from overseas, not much conversation just an old Marine and a young one, arms around each others shoulders, leanin up against his Ford in the airport parking lot smokin a couple of dog rockets.

I guess my point is, it ain't the cigar that matters so much as the company.

It is a grand experience. I never had the chance with my Dad so my son and I share a stogie often. Have a great time, and hopefully one of many.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice! And yes, I would agree, the company and conversation of smoking with my father is always something to look forward to. Unfortunately, with the way things worked out today we didn't get a chance to smoke together today, but hopefully soon.

I did however, swing by the local smoke shop on my way home today and picked up a Montecristo and a CAO cX2, both of which I am highly anticipating. I have some money left over, so therefore I will have to pick up some of the other cigars recommended here. Thanks again to everyone.

I am planning on picking up a handful of premo sticks this summer to stash in my humi for a few years until I graduate college, and then when my little brother graduates highschool, and then who knows what else . So, I think I will mark this thread to refer back to.

Padron 1926, 80th Anni edition. Worth every penny, and a phenomenal smoke. If you want to spend just a tad less, go for a 40th Anni, if you can find one.
