REVIEW DETAILS
APPEARANCE: 14/15
A silky smooth golden brown wrapper with a perfectly squared-off triple cap
covers this lonsdale. There are two small water spots visible on the wrapper
near the foot. The cigar's aroma is sweet and pungent. Overall, this is an
extremely attractive cigar that practically makes my mouth water.
ASH: 9/10
Firm ash with alternating light and dark bands on the surface. Ash holds on
for over an inch before dropping off and landing intact in the ash tray.
DRAW: 10/10
The draw is firm, but not tight--which feels just about perfect to me for
smaller gauge cigars.
BURN: 9/10
The cigar burns consistently with no touch ups needed, but it does seem to
slightly lean to one side.
SMOKE: 9/10
The cigar creates a thin, elegant line of wispy smoke, while the draw makes a
thick volume of white smoke.
FLAVOR: 19/20
On pre-light draw, the wrapper tastes slightly salty and dry on the lips. On
initial light, the cigar bowls me over with an intense grassy, woody flavor
undercut with a lemon pepper twang. Quickly, a sweet floral undertone develops
and delicately balances out the grassy/woody flavors. This is type of intricate
flavor delivery that I find when I smoke the "good stuff" in my humidor.
UNIQUENESS: 8/10
While I've smoked other cigars like this one, I must admit that there are very
few cigars in the world that are quite as special as this one.
FINISH: 14/15
The flavors don't change much at the end--which is a good thing since the
flavors are nearly perfect to begin with--but they do gain in intensity and
strength. A very solid finish that begs to be smoked to the nub.
TOTAL: 92 Points
PS - From just the appearance alone I got a good idea what this cigar
was--and after tasting it, I'm 99% positive on what it is (unless it's
some sort of special edition I'm not be familiar with).
