Alright ladies and gents,

I know it's been a while since one of these, but it's just been SO dang cold outside...

Today it was a bit nicer than it has been, so I decided to take a walk with my lady to get some coffee just off campus.

Along the way, I smoked a Chateau Real Belicoso Favorita. This cigar was 6'' by 50 Ring gague, so it was a nice sized smoke for a beautiful day.

This cigar was very light brown, and had a very sweet smell to it. There were few veins, but the ones that were there were somewhat prominent. There was a bit of green on the wrapper, which I'm not sure about, but it didn't seem to effect the flavor of the cigar.

Right off the bat the smoke was very creamy and mellow. For a mild cigar, it was a bit spicy through the nose. The ash was a light to medium grey, and was a bit flaky as it fell off a lot.

As I moved into the second third, the smoke was pretty consistent. It was still nice and creamy, but added a bit of nuttiness to the mix. Nice flavor through the nose. The aroma that surrounded the cigar smelled of sweet hay, which was pleasant for me, and the people around me.

The last third stayed pretty much the same, but it did taste a bit chalky. It might have been the mocha I was drinking, but I'm not sure.

I even had an older gentleman come up to me to comment on the smell. He said something along these lines..."I can smell that all the way down the road!! I thought you was an old man or somethin'." Nice guy...asked me for a dollar cause he didn't have enough for a coffee. OK off topic now

This was a five pack that I am happy that I purchased! Not my usual strength of a cigar, but a nice change!

Hope you enjoyed this review!!

This cigar is great for the Novice smoker. My son will come over to the ol home and have a stogie with his "Most Awsome Dad" and I will either give him this or a Cigar called "Occidental reserve" and he likes them both very well. :cbig:

Very nice review! I liked the old man story :)

I think the Chateau Real is a solid line, and the maduro in particular is probably in my top 3 "cheap maduros" ("cheap" because I got them on cbid).

For whatever reason I just can't do mild cigars during winter. It must be my sinuses (they get blamed for everything), but I can't get much flavor out of mild cigars when it's old out. I need a medium-full body at least, and preferably a decent dose of pepper or spice.

Yeah the old man story was enjoyable to write about! I"ll definitely keep my eyes pealed for a chateau real maduro that I can try. Thanks for the suggestion and comment!

Thanks for the review.

I found the Chateau Real to be a pretty good, mild cigar. I had the same experience in terms of flavors that you had in your review.
