  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Info regarding the "Bomba de Brazil"

- BMF Capa and Filler mixed with Nicaraguan Filler and a T52 Stalk-Cut Binder - not a Brazilian Puro.

- I suspect the dent in the sample smoked was caused by the ribbon that was holding the half-wheel together...

- Just a blend we are playing around with. Nobody knows anything about it, not finalized, no plans to release, no anything.

- It was just a unique cigar that I brought for the LP Private Tasting so folks could experience something "in progress" fwiw.

Thanks for the information, Steve. I wasn't sure from the details that I could find if it was a puro or not, so I didn't want to say in the review. I only heard about the wrapper and the filler having Brazilian tobacco.

Good point on the dent possibly coming from the ribbon. It didn't affect anything as far as the burn was concerned.

I thought it was a great pre-production cigar...will be interesting to see if you do take it to production, and if so, how the blend is finalized.

I made edits to the first post to reflect information that Steve provided.

Thanks!

That wrapper appears to definitely be from the Mata Fina section of the Reconcava region of the state of Baha in Brazil. Forever my favorite wrapper, that naturally occuring dark leaf adds so much to a stogie, with its sweet peppered nut goodness and great ash holding/contrasty appearance capability.

For those interested who might not have caught them before, I did a short series on Brazilian puros here. Just go to `Search This Forum` at the top right side of the Domestic Reviews listing and type in `Brazil Puro.` Great smokes!
