  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

RP does make some rockets but he also makes some very good sticks. The 90 and 92 vintage are good as are the olde world reserve, and edge.

I used to think Rocky Patel was the best for a while (As far as non-cubans go) but then I ran into Oliva and now all the Pepin cigars. With stuff like Serie V and Tatuaje I don't care much about RP's new stuff. The 1992 is still good, I have a couple fivers hidden in the bottom of my cooler. I'll probably revisit them sometime.

I actually preferred the Vintage 1990 and Sungrown to the Vintage 1992.

Mr Patel does make some good cigars, but I wouldn't compare any of his offerings to habanos. Actually I'm not sure why anyone compares cigars from Nicaragua, Honduras, etc. to those from Cuba. A good cigar will stand on it's own no matter where the tobacco is grown.

BTW mr008 ... are you arguing with yourself in that first post?

I concur with joshua. To begin with RPs were premier in my smoking. As my experience has expanded and my palette has taken in a broader range of flavors I'm finding the RP profile to be just one of many I enjoy and none a current favorite, though Vintage 92s and Sungrowns are an essential part of my lineup. The rest have only been passing acquaintances.

That is one of the true joys of this hobby. There are a great variety of choices to try, and one can always find new sticks that suit them.
