  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Wait a sec! They dye them?! Why & which ones?:barf:
For sure the RP R4 "Maduro" and some others that are dark. Didn't believe it until it was discussed here awhile back. Sure enough I lit one up (last one thank goodness) and with a little moisture you can use is as a Sharpie!!

Pretty disappointing.

I didn't like the Summer Collection. But, hey - free cigars & they're nice yard-gars & good to burn when you don't want to cremate a primo.

RP is similar to Gurkha in that they have about three million lines ranging from pretty good to crappy to Thompsons Exclusives. They're out to make money primarily... I find most of them to be only fair with only a few that I ever buy a second time.

I wasn't impressed with the Summer Collection. It was very plain, no definite taste or falvors to me. The Autumn was better, I thought. A little bit more complex.

Holy shit, I had no idea of this. I have been very high on RP because of the edge and vintage lines. The new decade is great, IMHO.
The Edge Sumatra is good, the Old World is alright, I liked the Decade a lot. The vintage line is always a consistant standby smoke. The rest are not worth the time it takes to smokes em.

I agree with you. I like the vintage line, but that's pretty much it. I'm glad some of you guys liked the decade because I have one in my humi. I have yet to try it.

The Summer Collection was a decent cigar to me. I didn't buy any more of them though. The guy at the B&M told me to pair it with a Belgian White Ale. I smoked mine with a Blue Moon.

Haven't tried the Summer yet, have one in the humi though.

I love the Vintage, Signature, Fusion, Edge Lite, and the Olde World Reserve (which is in my Top 5 sticks). The Connecticut is good for a mild cigar, the Double Maduro is decent as well.

I had also heard that they dye the R4 Maduro, but I can't say for sure. They don't even make that cigar any longer, though. Some have speculated that they dyed the Edge (or some of them) as well, but I can't comment on that either.
