  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I just read elsewhere that there is no lock on this unit, that it is listed in error. I think I recall a Brother here using a hasp and padlock setup on their wineador to keep his dorm mates out of his collection.

Agreed! I bought a couple of these 2 years back and the first one looked like UPS ran it over with 2 brown trucks, a fork lift and then backed over it with a 747 on the tarmac. Called them and they said cut the cord, and sent me a new one.

If that happens....harvest the peltier off the broken one!! You might need it some day.

I just ordered an Edgestar 28 open box unit for 139.99 shipped. I think I should have it mid week.

I didn't want to wait for or risk buying a real beat up S&D unit.

I still have a couple months until it starts to get too warm here so, i have a little while to save some cash and order some shelves / drawers.

Mine came today. Looks okay but it was missing a level screw. It did not have a lock.

I have it turned on with 2 boxes of baking soda in it. If it gets cold I'll say it was a good deal for $50 less than an unopened box.

Mine was very well packed. It came in the original box that box had all the expected packing and then they put it inside another box with more packing ~ way overkill in my opinion.

Once I Start to get drawers and such i'll make my own thread showing how it turned out.

Thanks to all for the link to the open box deal.
