I do like some of AJ stuff but these Gran Toros has a rock hard dried out head , cut to smoke and as I smoke it further till the mid with some mild flavors , all sticks crack from mid alway till the head even under the fat ass band :stickbeat:

Such a long time since I had cracks on cigars , AJ has to work on it and if not , one more fan lost .

Do you guys have these issues on your sticks too?

Not a common issue for me, unless the cigar is too tight or plugged, then I'll roll it between my fingers and use the draw poker, which often leads to cracks.

Too dry, maybe?

Did you let them recover from shipping?

Yeah... I think this is one of the most important, and least understood, frustrations for all of us online shoppers. We already waited for the sticks to show up, and now we have to let them rest for a week or more? It's tough.

I've never had a cracking issue on the few instances where my inpatients has gotten the best of me, but I'm curious to see if this is the issue here.

^sone people will say yes in general, but I haven't found that to be true for all maduros.

It could be that this batch you got was overly dry or something. If it were me, I'd email customer service where I bought them and ask for a replacement 5er or whatever.

Usually it's the opposite with sticks purchased online. I have noticed most of what I order comes in over humidified. As NJ said call your vendor and voice your concerns. I have smoked my fair share of the entire San Lotano line and never had any major issues.
On a side note how do the rest of your sticks feel in the same humidor? Just asking because with some of the country starting to get cooler in the evenings and heat starting to be used again it is usually when people start to notice their Rh start to drop off a bit and since you let them sit for two weeks maybe your humidors Rh is dropping. I have noticed over the years that once the cooler weather sets in the posts about low Rh start to pick up.

The rest are all fine including maduros , I guess its the batch I purchased so will contact the vendor as NJ says cause I am smoking another one while typing this , the head is more moist then the rest but cracked from the mid again till the head , tightly bunched fillers for some reason .

Thanks a lot guys for your advise ! :ccowboy:

Sounds like the vendor may not have been storing them properly but who knows. I have a couple left so if you want shoot me your addy and I will send them to you so you can try a couple that aren't dry. The SL Maduros are a little light for my palette and my morning smoking has been almost non existent lately since working from home full time and no longer having a commute so it could be a while before I get to them so I would be more than happy to share them. Have you had the Connecticut? I'm not a big fan of Connies but these are not your grandfathers Connecticut. I will send one of those along for the ride if you haven't. That Ecuadorian Connecticut shade works wonders for this stick.

Hey neoflex , thanks a lot for your offer , really appreciate it brother !
I am not a US citizen so the mail cost will be better spent in sticks , but again thanks a lot !

I have called the vendor and they will ship me a replacement of 2x5s in my next order so all done .

The thing with this maduro or the size is as you mentioned too mild for me too, so I will stick with the Habano and the old trusted MoWR and Diesel .
I have a 5er connies too , and not so a fan too  , but Ill wait a little longer and try them as well .
