  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I received a 5 Vegas Relic in a sampler today and I have to say, it's one nice looking and smelling cigar.

I'm king of looking forward to it, even though my 2 previous 5 Vegas smokes were "meh" (Gold) and "crap" (Gold Maduro).

Don't smoke it any time soon. They burn funny, and need at least a year of downtime before they are worth even trying.

Congrats on some really sweet cigars pick-ups! I like all of those. I got a box of El T #6 from there about a month ago too ... I was FLOORED to get them at a great price! I think no one knows they are there, lol.

i like the Gold, and they improve a LOT with age (had a 2-year-old one a month ago ... stellar). The Relic improves with age as well, but it's still not my thing (I know a lot of guys love them, though). They do look and smell great, I agree. The Miami is good, of course, sort of a DPG Blue knock-off.

stopped by the b&m today. I got the hookups! after leaving the shop, i called them up and asked if i could buy the whole box of anejos 46's, which is a full box that they just opened to pull these two out. They have a two stick limit for anejos and opus, but they said sure, why not :cbig:

Nice! The 46 is my favorite size too. I'd like to try the new one, though, I think it's called the 60.

why would they have a 2 stick limit on those cigars??
limited availability...besides spreading the wealth they can also charge single stick prices
I think single stick profit is pretty low priority when a B&M has a 2 stick limit on a limited release cigar. I know several stores that do this and the main reason as gentimmy said is spreading the wealth. They can make a lot of people happy that way instead of 3 or 4 box sales. Plus with limits they can keep boxes longer as well. It's nice to walk in to your local, off season, and get cigars like Anejo and Opus, this wouldn't be possible if they didn't have a limit or hold back boxes. A B&M can get a good name and good regulars this way and outweighs the little bit of profit of single stick vs. box sales.
