Then why does the lighting effect cause her to look rather crosseyed in the left eye (pic 1)? Is it an "Avatar" look, or just what happens with colored contacts?

Not sure I follow you RMP. If you look at both eyes, there is the same space to camera right (white space) in her eyes. Maybe it's not her... :devilhead
