BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The bar I used to frequent (when I frequented bars) was not cigar friendly at all. You could puff your marlboros and camels all you wanted but if you lit up a cigar, you would be asked to leave (unless you were a regular, then they would give you **** the whole time).
Bars around here that still allow smoking are few. The ones that do are required to post a sign at the entrance saying Smoking allowed in this establishment.
All that I know of also have a sign stating cigar and pipe smoking not allowed inside. Cigar lounges are really the only haven left, and the state has been on them as well. first was cant sell other consumables like coffee and water, now they can't allow byo beverages. One that I used to frequent had a don't ask dont tell policy. Keep it tucked by your hip and its all good. Dunno if that still stands there as I know they had a visit a few months ago

Seriously?! You can still smoke a cigar and play poker in Vegas?! At all casinos?some airports have climate separated smoking rooms, they don't usually allow cigars either.

I'm not sure about poker tables in LV, but at some casinos there are placards on the blackjack tables specifying "no cigars". In that case I usually hang out by the slots and no one bothers me.
If you're in a poker tourney, maybe you can speak with some type of pit boss ahead of time with that request. I hope you can though! Poker and cigars are typically synonymous! Good luck!

I find it ridiculous that cigarettes would be acceptable but a pipe or cigar is looked down upon, there are no establishments here that allow indoor smoking other than b&m soo suppose it's fair however I don't know that I would like to hang out in a smoky bar with my cigar in hand anyways

There is a cool Bar/Club here in LA that has a "cigar lounge" in the back with a bar and music and a dance floor, the front of the house gets live music, bar but no smoking...I went there a couple of weeks ago and they only have one kind of cigar for sale but you can smoke your own, order drinks and dance if you want or just people watch. I don't know of any other places that you can smoke inside around here.
David, at Prairie Fire Casino just north of you I have smoked cigars on the floor. Didn't play any poker, but played table games without an issue. I should say it has been a year or so.
I was wondering the same thing about the reservation casinos here in California. I was actually going to call Pechanga casino to find out if cigars were allowed or just cigarettes. If anyone knows, please let me know. I personally think cigar aromas are MUCH less offensive, and I used to smoke cigarettes.
2 of the 3 places we stop at for supper and maybe one drink will NOT allow cigars or pipes, but you can stink the place up with all the cigarettes you want. doesn't make any sense to me but thems the rules.
Ok. I've never really thought about this until I started smoking cigars, but something was making me think I would not be welcome in a regular smoking bar.

I'd rather be surrounded by pipe smokes as opposed to cigarette smokers any day of the week. I can smell a cigarette from a mile away since I quit cigarettes back in '07. Out of all the tobacco's, they easily smell the worst.
I always remember back when Wisconsin wasn't a nanny state and allowed smoking, I was in a bar enjoying a cigar and this drunken old bar skank was sucking on her Marbs giving a ration of shit about the smell of my cigar! Being the polite kind of guy I am, after a listening for a few minutes of abuse, I tried calmly to explain that she should go F*** herself! Shut her up for at least a couple of minutes.

Before my son came along 2 years ago. Multi-useless and I used to frequent the local watering holes. Normally we would just ask if cigars were cool and if they were we would fire em up. If they weren't we would just hit the outdoor patio if they had one.
MGM and Harrah owned casinos have tables that say no smoking, but the others are game. Smoking rooms too are available at those hotels.
