Smoking ban in Cuba???

Anyone heard anything about this? Banning your most famous export makes no sense to me. Is this true?

Pretty outrageous...although, it's so warm there year round...why would you want to smoke inside anyway?

Yes I have heard about this but have also heard that it will not be enforced.

I saw this on the Today show on Sat. morning. They had someone reporting in Cuba...in one of the cigar factories...man I was drooling! My wife just roller her eyes and shook her head......The guy reporting had, what I assume to be a fresh-rolled cigar in his hand....I wonder if he fired it up later in the day.

The ban does not include the cigar factories so the rollers couldn't care less. He also interviewed someone else who smokes 2-3 cigars a day, smokes and I think chews tobacco also. He better be careful and make sure there isn't too much blood in his nicotine system now the ban is in place!

That is the same logic that applies to the whiskey industry that manufactures whiskey in a dry county.

Less places to smoke there, less that the people can smoke there, so more they can export.

That is a great but flawed idea.
