  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

For those that smoke in your home does it linger? My house does not have carpet, and almost no cloth of any kind in the living room. Would you be concerned of a lingering smell?

Worse case scenario. Febreze. Or even get yourself some smoke and odor elminating candles too. That might help should there be any lingering smells.

Dont smoke in my house, but it does stick around in the garage where I smoke during the winter.

Takes a few months into the summer for it to go away.

I suspect it would be moreso indoors considering in the garage I open the door for a while when I'm done. Cant open a 12ft hole in the house after every smoke

I've tried a lot of different things to combat the "smell" and found that the ionizers do very well...I have two in my house and another smaller unit in my SUV...they work. Ozium works really well because I rent cars and smoke my cigars in them...as most know Rental Car Agencys are non smoking....or they will fine you up to $250 and this little bottle works. I squirt a nice amount the day before I turn the car in and never have an issue...if they only knew how many cigars I actually smoked in those suckers.

In ones home the carpets and fabrics tend to 'hold' the smoke and that's where we run into problems. What you want in your house is an exhaust fan...I smoke in my library and put an exhaust fan in the window...I only have to turn it on at a low speed and it works great. When I'm done with my cigar I turn it on high for another half hour...come back and the aroma is gone. Just ensure you get rid of the ashes as well...that's sometimes a forgotten item to get rid of.

Pretty easy just a 20" Box Fan with a 20" smoke eater furnace filter. ;)

DIY Air Filtration System! - Homemade Air Purifier - Simple "box fan" c...:
Lol...sometimes things can be this easy....f'n great idea as I have 2 box fans and plenty of filters. Here in Atlanta during our pollen season ( like right now where we have this yellow powder everywhere....) this idea is like a Eureka moment even though we keep our windows closed....to move the cold air around this is a great idea to keep the air inside the house as clean as possible. Even with two towers ...one for each floor....I like this simple idea better...Thanks!

It honestly depends on how much you are smoking in the house and your air flow. I live in a very small 2 bedroom apartment (850 sq ft.) and the windows don't even open. My wife was out of town a few weeks ago and I decided to try my luck and smoke inside and see if she would notice. Through out the week I smoked 3 times inside the house at night and one night I had a buddy over and we smoked together. When she came home she made no mention whatsoever of any kind of odor.

As long as you aren't chain smoking, I think you're good. Candles and Febreez great to use before any company just in case.

I smoke in the house aa few times a year when I have a sitter for my son. I have all the windosw open and a air purifier running smell still sticks around. Im wanting to getva better purifier when the budget allows it for the man cave in the basement
I smoked in the bathtub once. Window open, fan on.

The smell hung on for a week.
I did that once it was awesome!
