Smoking in the car

I might know the answer but I need to ask anyhow.

As of late the only time I have to smoke is in the car usu on the way to the airport heading out of town. The last 3 I have had to keep either relighting or touching it up since it is burning very uneven. I keep the driver side window cracked and air blowing from the floor. Is there anything I am doing or does the cold air in the north east my problem?

I used to do the same thing. I started cracking the passenger window and this makes the air flow not so direct on the cigar. It still pulls the smoke out the window, but just a different window than the driver side. The smoke also lingers a bit longer this way giving you a more pleasurable smoke.

Also, i rotate the cigar a quarter turn every time i draw. This help keep it burning evenly by pulling the air passed a different side of the foot.

These are my tips that i discovered through trial and error. I'm curios to see what the link posted by caufio51 says.

If you have tried this already, excuse me, but with regards to your relighting issue, this may be due to an overhumidified cigar. May I suggest that if you feel that the cigar is a little overhumidified, take it out the night before when you go to bed!

Thanks, I will try that as well, and the above post talks more about dealing with smoke smell staying in your car.

Try it in a convertible. The wind movement is just going to affect the burn. I havent tried the quarter turn idea yet but I do rotate the cigar regularly. Helps some but the environment is what it is. I have actually learned to tolerate odd burns due to more car time. Good luck.

I smoke and drive with the driver window cracked about a quarter or so. makes sure the vast majority of smoke is going out the window.
between puffs I tend to hold the cigar in my left hand a little under the window, so smoke raises and escapes, but is not being forcefully pulled from the cigar.
I also hold the cigar vertically when I can remember which avoids the air pull causing me a canoe or other burn issues.
I only smoke smaller size cigars while driving, i found bigger ones to have much more burn issue while smoking, not really sure why, maybe just easier to manager it.
You can't wait as long as you do normally between puffs, as the cigar does go out a little quicker, while so close to the open window. I do not recommend closig the window, your car will stink.
I do follow the same reasoning with the rotations, but not nessesarily as planned as quarter turns. I just rotate every few puffs while I am driving.
The key ones I think, are don't have the cigar to close to the open window, and be concious that it might go out quicker, so you may need to give an extra puff .
to avoid in puffing to much, i sometimes just purge the smoke, and that allows the flame to continue, and you can see where it's slow burning to rotate in that direction
