Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Thats some crazy stuff right there. Happens in Jersey too!jasontp said:Man it was 81 here yesterday, I wake up to go work and the bank thermometer reads 33!!!! What is that?!? gotta love Texas!
Man do I remember that snow Brian!windowrx said:I hope we do get some good snow this winter. I'm one of those sicko's that enjoys it. I love a good snow day. Stoke up the woodstove, have an extra few cups of coffee, a cigar and a good book. Go outside every once in a while and play with the pup in the snow.
I think it's good for people. Forced relaxation. Neighbors who normally only nod at each other are actually talking, even if it's just to bitch about the weather. A couple years ago we had 3 feet of snow and were stuck here for a couple days. Several neighbors and I got together to shovel out the driveway of an elderly lady down the street and then we just did everybodys. It went a lot faster with a group of people shoveling. We all got to know each other and the next thing you know people are visiting and checking up on everyone, stopping by to chat, helping out. The whole neighborhood has been much closer since then.
I thought about getting a motorcycle or large scooter and decided against it for this reason. Instead now I am going to save up for a car.Hal said:I used to like snow until I got a motorcycle. Now I just want it to be nice all year. Not too hot, not too cold, maybe 70-75 every day, light rain at night when needed, no mosquitos, no high humidity... am I asking too much?
