  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So much I still don't know...

Greg, I always thought cabinet meant anything bigger than a desktop, but that is my take. If I wasn't lazy I'd google a better response...

Internet search provides: "Cigars packed in a wooden box rather than the standard cardboard or paper-covered cigar boxes. These are preferable when buying cigars for aging. Many cabinet selection cigars are often packaged without protective cellophane outer wrappers."

How I would put it personally is: Slid top wood boxes which are typically 25 or 50 count wrapped by a ribbon/wax paper/foil in a "wheel" fashion. But beware of the manufactures that just throw the word cabinet on the bands/boxes, because that isn't always the fashion, i.e. Ashton Cabinet, etc...

Or...

If you are talking humidor cabinets... that is a whole different story.

Check RonCs site or search google for Aristocrat Humidors.

Thank you very much. And I was talking cigar boxes.

Wouldn't you like to know?
There are actually cabinets of 10 coming out of Cuba theses days. Generally all are rounds (no slight box press) and ribbon bundled. They used to be more exclusive to cabinets of 50 but can sell more smaller ones. There will always be something special about cabinets of 50 though. Wish I could collect them longer without breaking in to them.

Like someone said above, cabs are typically bundles of 50 Cuban cigars. Some non-cuban manufacturers have followed in the Cuban footsteps and released cigars in similar quantities. The Tat Verocu line was released in cabs on 50 (at least I know the West Coast was... not sure about the East Coast but I assume it was as well).
