  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

We all hear it all the time, "is there a cigar out there that tastes like an Opus but cheaper"? Well, last night I had a cigar that tasted like an Opus and only cost me $6! La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel Gorda. I've had plenty of these before and have never gotten this flavor out of them before, but dayumn, last night on the way home from work, I'd have sworn I was smoking an Opus, from the first light till I pitched it into a snow bank, I swore it was Opus.

Trust me Mitch, the first smoke I light up Friday when I get to the lounge will the the above mentioned. If as good again, yep, I'm gettin' a box...at my discount!

I always found it ironic that the chisel "gorda" ("fat"), is thinner than the regular chisel. Amongst other vitolas as well. Back on topic: I'veyet to try that particular vitola, but having smoked regular chisels, chiselitos,... I'd say that even if I enjoy them thoroughly, they're not quite a cheap Opus. Then again, in this sort of things size does matter.

The new Opus Chisel... I like it. Wade check out the box and let us know if it's got a box code on it. Curious to see if a batch came out this way, a crop is good or if it's just a fluke. I'll try to hunt one down around here and take notes as well.

LOL @ Steve, I know you don't like the real full bodied stuff. But hey, this is a question that get's asked a lot!

Yeah, too much ligero I get to feeling sick and get headaches. Too much pepper spice with Opus as well, just so over powering. It burns out the taste buds so bad I think I need a steel wool pad to make it right again.

How long had this stick been aged? perhaps it was the age that made all the difference or it could be that Litto managed to blend one exactly like an Opus either way info on where the stick came from, its age, box code would help like Mitch said.
