  • Not to waste time on crappy cigars, if it sucks toss it and grab another
  • If your going to get a humidor get a big one, or at least set up a big coolador
  • Most torch lighters suck
  • Start with fivers of cigars and see what you like
  • Everyones tastes are different, one persons go to cigar could be another ones yard gar
  • Stay away from Pulse
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions, we were all there once

Find a different hobby. Unless it is collecting private jets, it will be cheaper!

1. Go register at CW and sign up for the newbie sampler pack
2. Do not buy cigars on Yahoo auctions
3. When you are ready to try cuban cigars send jckposter a big present ... then build a bombshelter. :smt067

I would first ask if they were serious or just thinking.

If serious:
1) send an email to this guy in Cuba
2) call your travel agent and book a 1 week vacation in Varadero
3) during the week smoke as many different cigars as possible
4) goto Havana and visit factories and the guy you emailed in #1
5) buy as many as you can afford now

I also have to preface that with "denounce your US citizenship and move to Canada" :smt098 (am I still allowed to joke here Jerry?)

6) whenever you buy a box buy 2. put one away and don't touch it.
7) join a cigar forum or two or 15

Don't buy any "Cubans" that are in a Glass top box. No matter how neat they look. Oh and Cuban seed domestics are not the same as Cuban cigars.

Just because an accessory looks cool doesn't mean it works worth a crap. Always do plenty of research on lighters, cutters, and humidors before buying based on looks.

My best advice would be to avoid a bombing war with Jerry at all costs :D
