Stay the hell away from the Cigar Forums! Ignorance is bliss and you'll be happy smoking your Macanudos and Thompson's cigars! ;)

Seriously, sign up on the forums, do a newbie sampler, and move on over to the darkside as quickly as possible. And like Newt said, Kiss your ass good buy!

Never take others reviews to heart when deciding on whether you would enjoy a particular cigar or not. Everyone has different tastes and your opinion of one cigar could differ completely from someone else.

Don't be afraid to (or attempt to resist) make the move to ISOMs.

Don't be afraid to (or atempt to resist) spend real money on cigars.

Get a tupperdor/coolerdor and some beads and get ready to enjoy life more.

Oh yes ... and smoke 'em if you got 'em. There's always more (or something different that's really great) where they came from.

Don't put the lit end in your mouth.
Never inhale.
65 or 70% RH is a general rule, not an absolute and precise reference value - RELAX!
Life's too short to waste on shitty cigars.
Taste is a personal thing and differs from person to person.
Smoke what you like, like what you smoke/

If you are going to try Cubans, please do the following:

Avoid Canada, Japan, and Britain, unless you own a private jet.
Avoid Jamacia, the Antillies (except Cuba), Costa Rica, Mexico, and Nicaragura unless you want to buy fakes that taste like musty tobacco.
Avoid the Bolivar brand for a while, otherwise you'll blow your head off!
Try out the HdM, Quintero, Juan Lopez, Raphael Gonzolez, and Quai d'Orsay brands first. They aren't too harsh, or strong.
