Heres my story and question....

I like to make pipes as a hobby. I don't sell em..just make em and give them to friends as gifts. Because of my lack of tools I just order the pre bored pipe kits from Tinsky.

I'd like to attempt to make my own stems so I'm not handcuffed to the ones he sends with the kits (which are nice by the way). Because I'm doing this for fun is there any way to make my own stems without dropping the money on a lathe?

I don't mind picking up a few tools if needed and cost effective.

Sorry man, just getting caught up here...
Resident Canadian artisans @crperkins @Newfiepipe any thoughts?
@Griz @Grrrrr609 what has you guys done staring out?
Also, maybe reach out to J. Cochey on IG @briarbird as I know he uses pre-molded stems in his Albatross line, still customized to each individual pipe but I think the bit/button work is already done so it's a lot less hassle starting out. Might be something to consider.
I'm yet to make a pipe myself, so no help here, but these are the resources I'd be reaching out to.
Good luck!

Bump....Great question. I'm considering getting a pre-bored pipe kit myself but have no idea where to really start and any clarification would be greatly appreciated
