stinky jar lids?

Dammit I bought new ball / mason jars to store some pipe tobacco and the rubber ring seal thingy has a very noticeable smell. I haven't found this with previous jar lids.



What's the best way to get rid of this smell so I don't end up smoking rubbery smelling tobacco?

Run them through the dishwasher on a sanitize cycle?

Always dishwasher sanitize ball jars before first tobacco storage use then make sure they are fully dry.. then good to go

I had the same issue. But I did what everyone posted above me. Just put them in the dishwasher. That should do the trick.

I did run them through the dishwasher and dried them carefully. This did indeed solve the problem. Thanks again!
