Any way of getting the damn lid off? I was talking to Todd and he says the box might have expanded and the slide top box is stuck until the humidity goes down. Hints??? Tips??? Tricks??? :dunno:

most likely Clay would.... get a knife and cut a small slit on the box headed down from the lid and try and let it expand... so hopefully it will release the lid enough to open.....

Be VERY careful when trying to open a stuck SLB lid. The grooves that are cut in the sides great weaken the wood and the whole "rail" could snap. Believe me, it sucks!

I would try dry boxing the whole box for a couple of days first.

I guess I'll chime in here with the obligatory

Wow, you've tried the knife/screwdriver tack? Didn't know the lids could get stuck...I have one where it's rough opening everytime because it doesn't seem like the lid was cut correctly...guess I better watch that one.

Personally I'd use some WD 40 on the box to loosen it up so the lid will slide.
That's the weird taste in all your cigars Erich??? I would try the drybox method myself!!! Ironman

Cliff you wimp!!!

Dry box is my best guess too....if that doesn't work, cut it open.

Okay so I left it in the cooler overnight and that must've loosend it up some. Or may'be a small knife prying it open helped. I think the vendor packed too much bubblewrap in there. Either way it's open now

Smoked another one last night (knowing that more are on the way).

They're good especially for a new cigar.

Recommendation: put that lid right back on it and tuck them away.
