Here's a yellow seven pod that I successfully overwintered kicking off now it's spring down here.

Butch T, Chocolate Scorpions and Red Devils Tongue seedlings that have popped this spring.

And a Butch T seedling that I grew inside during winter. I topped it four days before this pic was taken, and you can see the lateral shoots already.

Live small plants arrived In Great shape last April. I had no idea there were so many different varieties till I checked this place out. Will be ordering from them again for sure! Hoping for crops till the first freeze arrives in October.

Yeah mine should be going till almost November like last year. Peppers do pretty damn good in colder climates. My plants lasted till christmas last year after I brought them inside but they eventually died.

I tend to cut them out of the chilli with the placental tissue they're attached to. Put them on some paper towel and put them on a windowsill until they dry out. I've never grabbed a 'wet' seed from a pod and tried to germinate it. Most or all of my seed harvesting is done at the end of my season (June or July for us in the Southern Hemisphere)
Hope this helps :)

Hey Bigfoot, what kind of soil did you use for your plants?
1/2 mushroom soil 1/2 black gold soil. Next year when I till it I'm going to fill it up to the top with some more black gold. Couple more inches all around till it gets filled. I'm also going to add a bunch of worms to the soil from Uncle Jim's Worm Farm.

For my plants, I use a growing medium that has worked really well for me:
• 25L potting Mix
• 10L Coir Peat
• 10L Perlite
• 2L Dynamic Lifter

Sorry all the amounts are metric.
Dynamic Lifter is an organic pelletised fertilizer. I try to keep things organic as much as possible.

Peat discs and heated propogators! Ideal germination temps are between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius (78 to 82 Fahrenheit). A nice constant temp will help germinate those super hots. I've found also that super hot chillies can take up to three weeks to germinate, so be patient!

Great info. So it would be best to start indoors rather than just throw them in the soil outside?
For me, yes! YMMV though. I find its easier to keep an eye on them in regards to how much water they're getting. Too much, and they quickly 'damp off', and go mouldy. Also find much better germination rates with the constant temperature a heated propogator gives.
