Sorry you didn't get it, but if you had a higher bid you still would have gotten regardless of timing so the other person still outbid you.

I'm also afraid I'm one of those f*cktard's you mention, If you can't stop the tides of change, get a surf board and ride along.

If you wanted it, you should have placed your MAX BID (in other words, youre "top dollar") in the first place...then eBay would automatically proxy bid for you and prevent these snipers from beating you (unless, of course, they really are willing to pay more than your "top dollar").

Listen, there is no rational reason to place multiple bids, or to sit there and try to follow an auction online, when there's a built-in proxy bidding service in eBay.

If you want something, think about what your Honest-to-God "top dollar" for it would be, and make that your bid. Then just let eBay do the rest.
That's what I tell people to, but rarely is someone going to object to spending $0.50 more than their "maximum amount".

Well he might have run in and noticed it at the last second and tossed out a $25 bid. Since Donk's max bid was $18, then he only has to win by .50

I have bought maybe 5 things on ebay, and they were all books. So I'm not really very up on Ebay bidding. So next time I will remember to bid a max amount I'm willing to spend. At least you guys got a good laugh in, :rolling:

Also, and I know I'm late onthis advice, don't bid right away on an item if the auction doesn't end for 6 days. Watch that item and let the other guy think he's got it. The put you max bid in towards the end. Or Snipe that shit at the last second.

what is esnipe?
I use auctionsniper...

www.auctionsniper.com

The idea in using this sort of thing is to never make your bid intentions known. Just put in your highest bid to auctionsniper and it will wait till the auction has only a few seconds left to place the next bid - as long as it does not exceed your max.

It's the coolest thing ever. Especially when the highest bidder thinks they've got the item in the bag. Really pisses them off... Sorry, Donk but the person who outbid you is probably laughing their ass off.

thanks bro, I have to say I think it would have been easier to get a full one than to bid on an empty one.
