  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Nice work on the math, but I have a question for you...

What if the wrap takes 4 turns on a toro, but 3 on a lancero? I don't know which is true, but I'll find out this weekend. It's a really good thing you posted your link, I would have never thought to check it out!

BTW, I'm not busting your chops, just expanding my own education.

Hmmm. Good question. All of the math for the article was provided by Scott Bilker of debtsmart.com. I suppose it does assume that the manner in which the wrapper is applied (including issues of overlap) is the same across different vitolas. I was merely looking to find out if the wrapper to filler ratio really was greater in a lancero. There may be cases where that higher ratio is duplicated in a more conventional size as a result of rolling technique. Keep me posted on any comments or discoveries. Thanks.

Grab a Nestor Miranda Special Selection Lancero if you find one. Possibly at the same shop you'd find the La Aurora smokes... since they come from the same company. GREAT smoke.

Great smoke there too. I've got a few handfuls and jost visited a shop yesterday that had about 60 of em in a makeshift box. First time i've seen the lancero in a b&m. I've seen the robusto, but not the lance.

They were a little overpriced at $6.20 ea. I can get em for as little as $4.
