  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

After several straight days of rain I was able to get outside and enjoy a 70 degree evening so I pulled out a Tatuaje Miami FF to smoke.

Pre light draw was perfect with a taste of coffee and a hint of cedar as well. The wrapper had a slightly sweet smell to it. The construction of the cigar is great, several small viens running throughout the wrapper and it is a well rolled cigar with no soft spots.

Upon lighting I tasted an oak taste with hints of cedar, coffee, cocoa and a slightly nutty flavor. I was expecting that Pepin pepper taste but it was rather subdued, but retrohaling did give a sense of pepper. A complex cigar but not overwhelmingly so to the senses. Draw was excellent with just the right amount of smoke being produced.

As I started getting in to the second third I realized that I wasn't needing to drink a lot of water while smoking it and I was really enjoying the cigar. The ash held for about an inch and a half, probably would have held longer if it wasn't as windy outside. The coffee and cocoa was still present and the pepper picked up a bit but never dominated the flavour. A hint of sweetness was also present.

The final third of the FF developed quite a bit, the coffee was still present but the pepper and cedar picked up a bit. I had to take a few more sips of water when finishing it but it was still a smooth cigar. Burn was solid all the way through.

I spent a little over an hour and forty minutes enjoying the FF and my final evaluation is that this is a great cigar! Full flavored and complex throughout and picked up in strength during the final third, but wasn't overpowering. I am glad I got 2 bundles of these cigars, with a little more time to settle I think it will be an even better cigar to smoke.
