They claim the machines give them more information and perform at high quanities...more than a human can deal with. What the he//, i'm game, let's give it a try??? Maybe they're wrong!!!
Yeah, it's basically a small tube with a vaccum attached to a manometer or pressure gauge. they're looking for a ballpark number, supposedly that's not too easy or too tight.
Not every one has these or uses them. Some claim they QC some of their product. Other like CAO, claim to test draw every cigar they roll.
Remember the cigars are QC'd prior to adding the wrapper.
Everyone's preference is different, but a "good" draw (some minor resistance, but no real work to draw air through the cigar) usually measures between 35 and 45 on this unit. To me, a draw starts to get tight at 50, and unsmokable at 65.
