  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Yeah, it's basically a small tube with a vaccum attached to a manometer or pressure gauge. they're looking for a ballpark number, supposedly that's not too easy or too tight.
Not every one has these or uses them. Some claim they QC some of their product. Other like CAO, claim to test draw every cigar they roll.
Remember the cigars are QC'd prior to adding the wrapper.

Any word from Pete on this one? I know that Patel claims to test every decade that is released for retail.

How do companies test a cigars draw before they release it?
Here's the machine that many factories use....

Everyone's preference is different, but a "good" draw (some minor resistance, but no real work to draw air through the cigar) usually measures between 35 and 45 on this unit. To me, a draw starts to get tight at 50, and unsmokable at 65.
