  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

What are you guys up to?

We are having family over the house, have a turkey for the oven and a ham for the grill. Of course tons of sides, lots of beer and cigars galore.

Heading up the the Clubhouse for their HUGE buffet...we've done that for the past 4 years, so I'm heading back up there again. Then it's back to the house for cigars and drinks during the games.

Mom and Dad come to our place for Thanksgiving and we go to theirs for Christmas dinner (wife parents both deceases). We have the traditional turkey and tons of sides as well. No cigars as no one in the family smokes. Definitely football is on all day after the Macy's parade, minus the 3rd game which we do not get the NFL Network. I love me some turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwiches as leftovers the next few days after too.

I'm going to deep fry a turkey, make a couple of pies, and some of the regular sides. Nothing too big. It will just be myself, the wife and kid. Friday I'm heading out to east Texas to take my kid fourwheeling.

You grill the ham instead of the Turkey? I do the opposite.

Grilled Turkey, maybe spiraled ham, yams, green bean casserole, noodles, cranberry relish in a can, rolls, corn, and new this year...twice baked potatoes.

Rachel's Dad and younger brother and sister are coming up from KC.

Headed to Dad's (lives with the sis and BIL) Turkey and all on Thursday, then on Friday we are roasting a deer my BIL got at our place a couple weeks ago. I'll have to see how that works out as I think it could get pretty dry.
Cigars of course and football......the Broncos play that night (who cares after last nights screw up)

We are having turkey, and all them fixens. We usually have ham as well, but my brother makes it, and he is unable to make the trip cross country this year. I have a lunch turkey thing with friends, and dinner with my sisters and mom. Some cigars after dinner should go perfect.

I'm taking Dad up to my younger sisters house for an afternoon dinner and then coming back to my town to spend the evening being thankful with some friends.

Driving to Mesa, Az with wife and Aunt to have Thanksgiving with daughter (2 weeks past due now), SIL and his parents. Some how I ended up catering the dinner as I didn't think daughter would be up to it.

Just Heather and I. It is the one holiday that we spend together without running to relatives.

I will participate in the Thanksgiving morning deer drive in which one of us usually gets one and then cook a 1:00ish dinner which will consist of:

1. Turkey in the fryer
2. Spiraled ham
3. Deviled eggs
4. Stuffing
5. Twice baked potatoes
6. Lima beans
7. Homemade bread
8. Pumpkin pie

Heading to the in-laws for a small gathering of my wifes relatives. I do enjoy seeing them and my father-in-law makes a killer gin martini, shaken not stirred of course.

But am I the only one here that NONE of my relatives watch football or any sports for that matter? So I will not see any of the games on turkey day. I tried to have the dinner at our house, but since we do not have kids that option was not even considered by anyone except me (not that I am bitter or anything  ).

I will be deep frying a turkey at my place on Saturday while enjoying a cigar and then watching the Notre Dame game as my consolation for missing out on Thursdays games.
