  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

....and the No.1 beer is....The End of History

Source: BrewDog Beer

This dangerous-sounding beer may not have a warning label that makes temperance advocates bleed from the eyes.

It doesn’t have the highest proof in the world, although 55 percent is enough to make even the most staggering drunk go blind.

It doesn’t even have weird ingredients like malted whale penis or fermented haggis.

It’s the bottle that makes this beer so bodacious. The BrewDog brewery might have lost the proofing wars, but they win weirdest in show for this beer brand: a bottle encased inside of a dead and mounted rodent like a squirrel, weasel, or rabbit. It’s the only beer you don’t mind drinking out of a paper bag whether you’re walking down a busy Interstate or sitting in your favorite neighborhood bar.

Read about the other nine!!

I'd be willing to give them all a try. Though the Wasabi one sounds like something I wouldn't be happy with.

I'd like to see all 10 at the next herf....now the challenge is, who can finish them all?

I'm game to try it! :)

Not this guy! I drink a lot of 8%-11% beer and know better. Example: Stone Russian Imperial Stout, 10.2% (If I am correct) One 22oz (Like 4 regular beers) and I've got a good buzz. After the second 22oz, I'm feeling really good. When the third 22oz is down, I'm shitfaced!! Of course drinking all three of them within an hour might be part of the problem. :glassesgr

I'm thirsty now.

The way the super high alcohol beers get there is through freeze distillation/concentration of the alcohols. Sort of like Eisbock but done OVER and OVER. I don't think there is any yeast that can go much over 25%abv. If I'm not mistaken those beers with the animal skins are like $500 a bottle. So I'd try some but I'd never buy it.

No mention of this gem:
Beer Geek Brunch (Weasel)
"This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civet cats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries. Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma."

I love this beer.
