  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

At one point, my understanding (and I have no idea whether there is any basis in fact for any of this) was that someone somewhere had commissioned from someone a BOTL.org cigar.

Can anyone speak more authoritatively to the status of this?

If there isn't anything in the works, would it be possible to commission a cigar from one of the manufacturers? I read on one of the threads this morning that a cigar club had comissioned Litto Gomez to do a cigar for the club. Seems that if a club can do it, we could as well.

Anyone know what is going on with this? I think our own cigar would be interesting.

I know that there is nothing in stone or even in the works. But it has been talked about. I believe it was tossed in front of Pete, so we'll see what happens. I'm in for a box if it happens

Well, in a Monster Series Cigar thread, Pete let us this hint:

No but it might be close to the BOTL cigar.........(when reffering to the "Drac")
Which came from a thread started by Eric...which I just gave up on trying to find by Search; but it talked about a 5th anniversary cigar for BOTL.

From a bussiness point, it may be better to design our own cigar bands and let people put them on whatever they want. It is expensive to do very small custom runs of cigars, and with a group this small it's rough to cover the start costs of a project like this.

Maybe we can get get Pete to band some over runs, off color etc. of one of his great limited releases and sell them in bundles rather than boxes. Pete, you got any Franks left as singles you need help getting rid of? How about some left over Blacks? We'd be the perfect outlet for a small batch of overages that you don't want going out with the standard band on them!

We just want to help you out!

I guess that this is the kind of thing that I was thinking about. No idea if Pete would ever do this and I can totally understand why he wouldn't, but if he would...awesome.

I feel like there are other manufacturers out there that could provide us with something like this in the alternative.

Wouldn't it be great if Pete had a need room in his humidor sale! Due to Quality Control, he may have some great blends that didn't make the grade and couldn't get the top branding!

I'm not really interested in a BOTL cigar solely for the sake of having a BOTL cigar, though I'd probably buy some if it would benefit the site. However, if Pete made a BOTL cigar (and custom banded overruns or cosmetic seconds sound like a great idea), I'd definitely be in for a box.

I think it would be great if there were a way that it could benefit the site. I agree that just having a BOTL cigar for the sake of having a cigar is not that interesting. But, if we could get our hands on either a custom blend (I'm thinking something like the Cheroots by LFD that uncelnino is always pimping - just as an example of something unique by a relatively big name) or something that we all like (like anything Pete has ever touched), than that would be super cool.
