  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

"From Feb. 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia. The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain. The Roman romantics "were drunk. They were naked," says Noel Lenski, a historian at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Young women would actually line up for the men to hit them, Lenski says. That's insane!

That's fascinating stuff, I remember a professor of mine mentioning something about this years ago. Thanks for the read.

Hmm, I wonder if that's where "I'd hit that" comes from??
HAHA. I literally laughed out loud.

It's funny how the meaning of holidays change over time. My favorite is Easter. The day Jesus arose from the dead we celebrate with a bunny who brings people chocolates and we paint eggs. Christmas, the day Jesus was born is now about a fat guy in a red suit who brings you presents.

Never the less I will honor the origins of Valentines day by slapping women.

Actually, the celtic spring festival probably was used as a template for the christian easter holiday.
Hence the bunny and egg, both pretty obvious fertility symbols...

Hmm, i wonder if a can just use our cat as is to whip my wife or if i HAVE to skin it first... Cat may not actually approve of that though.
